SSL certificates
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is used to setup an secured connection between the client (browser) and the server (your website). By using this secured connection, it' s impossible for a third party to read the traffic between the client and the server. This can be usefull for severall options:
- Creditcard data
- Secure information
- Login data
You can recognize a secure connection at the webadress, this must be started with https:// in stead of http://.
A second possibility to recognize a secured connection is the padlock icon at the bottom of your browser. It's very important that you supply us with the correct CN (hostname). The usage of www.yourssldomain.dig as CN is entirely differs from yourssldomain.dig (without www).
We can offer you an Geotrust SSL certificate which is supported by all browsers.
In case you use an SSL certificate, you also need to use a own ip adress. We can also arrange this for you. The total costs are:
